Energy Efficiency

Property owners that understand financial matters recognize that, when translated to net present value, the cost of tolerating the ongoing inefficiency of antiquated systems is far greater than the cost of replacing them now.  The end result is that Americans, without even recognizing it, continue to pay unnecessarily high energy bills with dollars that could be purchasing educations, vacations and real assets.  The large scale impact of our national energy ignorance is that America, despite our notions of freedom and independence, has become dependent on imported fossil fuels.   Americans cannot have the independence that our founding fathers envisioned for us until we eliminate our national dependency on imported fossil fuels.  America has fallen behind other first world nations in terms of energy conservation and renewable energy generation and this has imposed upon our nation’s resident corporations a competitive disadvantage.

If you put a large truck motor in a little subcompact; that little subcompact will never strain or overwork its motor, it will probably run forever without breaking down; but, it will never get good gas mileage.  The fact is, this is exactly what the HVAC (heating, ventilation & air conditioning) and DHW (domestic hot water) industries have been doing for decades.  They have focused on “meeting maximum potential demand” without promoting energy efficiency because Americans have not valued or requested energy efficient equipment.
